Standing Rules

  1. Members present at a Club meeting, but not able to answer roll call, are responsible for giving pertinent information to the Membership Chairman before or after the meeting that day.

  2. Yearly Requirements for Active Membership:

    • Attend 3 regular meetings of the Club.

    • Bring 3 arrangements and 3 horticulture entries.

    • Serve as an officer or committee member.

    • Perform set-up/breakdown duties as scheduled (See page A-15).

    • Provide meeting hospitality duties as scheduled (See page A-16).

    • Be a Judges’ clerk as scheduled (See page A-18).

    • Participate in Fundraising projects and Club projects.

    • Participate in Standard or Small Standard Flower Shows sponsored by our Club.

  3. Penalties. Members who have not fulfilled membership requirements by March 1 will be notified. If they cannot fulfill requirements and wish to continue membership, they should make an appeal to the Executive Board in writing, through the President, by April 1. The Board may:

    • Excuse member because of temporary extenuating circumstances.

    • Continue membership with notation of minor infraction. (This may be done only once).

    • Offer inactive membership if circumstances warrant to a member of 5 years or more who was previously in good standing.

    • Terminate membership with regret inviting a reapplication when circumstances permit.

    • Offer Sustaining Membership, if eligible.
