An accredited judge and member of the Westmoreland Hills Garden Club, Kaki will demonstrate several of the designs that are in the club’s May flower show.

DIVISION I: HORTICULTURE (Must be in place by 10:00 am)

Number of Entries Permitted: 6

Staged in green bottles of appropriate size, unless otherwise stated. If you need wedging material, it must be bubble wrap and not visible above the top of the bottle.

Section A. Broadleaf Evergreen Tree or Shrub Branches: Flowering, fruiting, or foliage specimen (Unless otherwise noted: 10” minimum, 30”
maximum. For dwarf varieties: 4”minimum, 12” maximum)

Class 3. Camellia (in flower) (A branch or may display flower on 1-2” stem, preferably with two leaves, in a clear cup/bowl or on a plate)

Section I. Collection: A group of five different cut and named specimens that have a common characteristic, displayed in individual green or clear glass containers. To be judged for cultural perfection.

DIVISION II: DESIGN (Must be in place by 10:00 am)

Section A. Open: “Delicate Jewel” Petite Design
A creative design not exceeding 8” in height, width and depth. Space: 20” x 20”

Design Tips:
Additional staging may be added, but will be included in the overall measurement. For characteristics of creative designs, see Handbook for Flower Shows page 72. For examples of Petite Designs, see Designing by Types, pages 118-119.

Section B. NJSA: “Into the Deep” Underwater Design
A creative design having some or all plant material and other optional component(s) submerged in water. Space: 30”x 30”

Design Tips:
Plant materials and other components must contribute to the overall design. Plant material should be selected for lasting qualities. Distilled
water may be used to reduce “bubbles” in the design. See Handbook for Flower Shows page 79, and Designing by Types, pages 173-174.
